Home Based Care Assistants provide basic physical and emotional support to patients. They work under the direct supervision of a professional supervisor. This qualification allows the learner to work as an assistant home-based carer and focuses predominantly on practical aspects of care.
Assess, plan and provide holistic (physical, spiritual, emotional, and social) care and support for patients and household members
Capacitate patient and household/family members as participants in the patient care team
R 22 800 including books, equipment, and uniform
R 800 payable on application (non refundable application fee)
R 10 000 payable on registration (non refundable two weeks after course commencement)
R 4 000 (semester one) equipment, books, uniform R 2 000 per month x 4 months (R 8 000)
NQF Level 2 or Grade 9 Certificate (minimum)
