The Occupational Certificate: Early Childhood Development addresses the needs of the early childhood development sector in various settings, focusing on education, health, and safety. This qualification recognises entry – level practitioners, enhancing their employment prospects within the Department of Basic Education. An Early Childhood Development Practitioner plans and prepares activities, facilitates learning, observes and assesses children’s progress, and reflects on learning. They support holistic development from conception to school age in both centre – based and non – centre – based environments through inclusive, play – based methods.
